First days in the new job...

I started my new job yesterday and it has been a handful, tiring but exciting. Yesterday was also really good cause we had a client visit, and they were watching me do my v-o-i-c-e recognition stuff... and they decided to offer me a job project on the spot. This client is IMAX actually.... They wanted a voice-over artist for their corporate commercials/advertisements, and in particular, they wanted a female with a western-asian tone, and yeah, they picked me. It's an assignment/project thing, so it's as and when, and apparently I can do it within normal working hrs. It's pretty cool and I've never done anything like it before, so it'd be an experience. I have to do a sample recording next week... but of course, if they don't like it, they'll just let me know I guess.

Today my boss came back from her visit to Melb. Not so sure if I like working with her. See, work today was really frustrating and pretty bad... I actually feel like quitting. For starters, I have a new boss, who is pretty demanding, pedantic and not very flexible. When I took the position, I didn't think she was going to be that bad. Guess you can never know until you're working alongside the person. For one, she doesn't understand the time frames when you are on live allocations and she expects me to do everything at once... and just being really unreasonable. We had a chat today where I tried to explain to her stuff but she held her guard. I guess what I am saying is that this wasn't what I signed up for. I think I prefer my old position where I had my own flexibility, was working independently on everything and I didn't have anyone breathing down my neck. For now, it's still alright I think especially since I'm new to the position and learning. But when semester 2 of uni starts, I just hope that my boss would not be as unreasonable as now... *sigh* Might try to find another job online...
