Catch-ups

It's been a flat out week working, filling up my tax return, doing groceries, cleaning up part of the house i.e vaccumming, doing laundry paying bills, checking my car tyres, looking for cheap petrol.. hee.. I accomplished all those this week, but still have so much to do though - still have to do some more laundry, have to clean out my cupboard and shelves (I believe I've accumulated a lot of stuff ever since I moved here.. lol)... Just to get everything in order before TY heads up and also before uni commences.

I honestly can't believe Sem 2 is beginning in 2 weeks! At least I managed to catch up with a few peeps this week.

Yesterday, caught up with two of my guy friends up in Syd who brought me to the Rocks for German food and beer! The food was yummy! Check out my Facebook pics! I drove in cause it was just easier... The Rocks doesn't really have convenient transportation for me all the way from my place. And earlier in the day, I decided to take a drive to see if there was parking and there was... So I pre-planned. Haha! Or else, it'd probably take me about an hour and a half just to get there by bus and walking. Plus the last bus straight to my doorstep from that place was about 9:40 which was rather early... Good thing I drove, cause after German food, my stomach still had place for desert, and we went to Pancakes on the Rocks. Although when we got there, the pancake portions on other people's tables looked really huge and we just opted for drinks instead. It might have been the walk from the German restaurant or the atmosphere from that German place that made me feel really hot - even the ice choc I had at Pancakes on the Rocks seemed warm. The German place is certainly worth the visit. The ambience was great - dancing especially the German slap-dance... and the entertainers trying to get all the girls and random people up to follow some of the actions they were doing to particular tunes... fortunately we paid the bill just in time and were leaving... I would have been quite embarrassed to get picked and stand up there and do stuff.

Today, had a reunion with my Syd Uni summer school friends. The catch-up was awesome! Lots couldn't make it, so in total, there were just four of us from the 10 who were in our usual group. One of the guys actually made it into the city, but he took about 2 hours to find a park and then when he finally had a park, we were having desert. So he decided to eat somewhere in a cafe and then head over afterwards to look for us. But by the time his food came and he came around to look for us, we were leaving. Poor thing. We told him he just shouldn't drive into the city at all cause parking is just crazy everywhere - even when it's raining and at that hour. I kinda knew parking was gonna be insane... Just lots of people warning me about it. So despite the cold and rainy weather, I bus and trained in.

The four of us agreed to do this again some time - thinking of yum cha. And by the way, the pics of today's event are loaded on Facebook. You'll see that the food was awesome, but the bonding was just as good. =) And of course, after din, M had to get a catch-and-grab stuffed toy for me. She got me a really cute, small keychain. She also got J some thing from those machines. Yup, definitely had lots of fun, and spoke about almost everything. I told them that if there's an audiology course at Syd Uni, I would have no hesitation to transfer... just cause the pple there are better. But then, I said, the lecturing is not that great at Syd Uni - sometimes it can be quite good and other times, it can't...
