A good day

Today's been a good day - first of all, complain-free!! Yeah, it's been all really good. A few compromises, so I think I can live with that.


There were two bad things that happened today though:

1) The lecturer for the phonetics class didn't turn up at all. Class started at 9am and no-one really told us she was sick till 10am. Apparently the department just got her voice message at 9:45am. We created a class attendance list anyway... but I think all of us were pretty disappointed she didn't show up. Plus we had to wake extra early to get there. So at about 10 something, I left with a classmate to go to Bunnings. It was there that I bought this cooler/heater. The reason for my splurge - at the moment we only have one fan in the house and nothing else. And I think when TY comes over, he'd really want to be cool, so yeah, it's a good system. Unfortunately they didn't sell just coolers - all the coolers came with heaters. But I got it for only $99 and it's such a smart little thing. It looks like this:





















2) It was raining pretty heavily. In fact, the whole day today and yesterday, it was half a day. Apparently it'll be like that the entire week... And today was cold.

The good stuff:
It was rather productive today I thought - housewise. I bought a "Y" piece from this place which specialises in plumbing. The customer service is excellent, so I'd definitely recommend it - the place is called Tradelink. They have a website too - here and am sure there is a store in Melb too. Oh yes, the Y piece - it's meant for my washing machine to connect two hoses to a tap for the cold water to run through it. We kinda struggled with it, but our neighbour had a spanner and managed to help us with it. She was really helpful.

At night, we cooked and relaxed by watching So You Think You Can Dance Australia. How good was Melbourne? Apparently my friend's friend is in the top 20. Her name's Vanessa, so look out for her I guess...

Got to go sleep now. I have to wake up at 7am tomorrow to have breakfast and leave for class. I am hoping my lecturer will be sick again, because if so, I can catch up and practice on my own more with phonetics.

CNY is coming up and VDay too... sadly TY isn't able to head up, because his bro will be heading back to Melb around that time. As for CNY, my parents are heading up here on Wed for about a week (I think) to come visit me. Hopefully I won't be too busy. I am working this weekend - Fri, Sat and Sun... and classes are Mon, Tue, Wed...
